pixel-o: Might I ask why you find my(pixellion-image) Belgium offensive? What is wrong with me making her chubby?

nia-talia:

It is but my humble opinion ! I dislike characters being alterated to suit an artist’s particular taste. I don’t mean to say “being chubby is wrong” (that’s a whole other subject I won’t talk about), but I don’t really see the point in making a non-chubby character chubby. It’s like, let’s say, whitewashing ? I’m not trying to say you should do otherwise, it’s your art and your blog and you don’t have to justify your pictures, but I just feel free to express on my own blog how I don’t like it. :p (I liked the picture so … whatever ? I don’t know, is it really important ? )

#NOT AN INSULT IN ANY WAY EVERYONE IS ENTITLED TO THEIR PREFERENCES #IT’S LIKE REBLOGGING A PICTURE WHILE TAGGING I DON’T LIKE THIS SHIP BUT #IT’S NOT RUDE #IN MY OPINION ? I DON’T KNOW

What’s the difference then between me “altering” her to my particular taste and you saying that you prefer seeing her a certain way. Why am I the one in the wrong?

Himaruya doesn’t really do much to diversify the apperances of his characters other than with heights, hair, and, on rare occasions, noses. Because of that, I find I have more freedom with how I interpret them. Whether or not she’s chubby isn’t something that explicitly stated anywhere. Her character profile only says that she is busty and has features that stand out. It doesn’t say that she’s slim, nor does it say that she has more weight to her. It’s pretty much up for interpretation.

But you’re right, it is my art. They are my pictures and I don’t spend hours working on them just to have someone say it doesn’t fit in with their preferences. I didn’t draw it for you, so unless you have some criticism that’s constructive to give, I don’t want to hear it.
You may not think it’s rude to put stuff like this and “I don’t ship this but…” in your tags, but I do.
In fact, many artist do.
I, along with many others I’m sure, go through the tags on our work, and I’ll tell you now, we don’t appreciate stuff like this. It’s unnecessary, and we don’t need you devaluing our work because it doesn’t meet up to your standards.

If you like a picture, that’s all you need to say because that’s all we need to hear. However if there is something in that picture that bothers you so much that you feel the need/right to voice that in your tags, save yourself the trouble and don’t reblog it at all.

I don’t want to hear it, and I am certain other artist don’t want to hear it either.

"Hey, Wait! S’mores are supposed to have CHOCOLATE! C’mon guys, let’s teach them a lesson!!"
A lesson?
"That’s right! We can have a camp fire too!"

Pretty much the only line from America in the dub that matters.
